Consumer Settings
Control every detail of your public QR consumer page — visibility, fonts, display options, and custom domains
Overview
The Consumer Page Settings module lets you control the public-facing QR landing page that your customers see when they scan a product. Every field, section, font, and domain option you configure here is reflected in real time on the consumer experience.
The settings are organised into four tabs:
Changes in the Visibility, Typography, and Display tabs are buffered in local state and saved atomically when you click Save Settings. The Custom Domain tab has its own independent actions (Add, Verify, Set Primary, Delete).
Visibility tab
The Visibility tab is the most powerful tab. It lets you control exactly which supply-chain stages and which fields within each stage are shown to consumers on the QR page. It also controls which page-level sections are displayed.
Stage visibility
Your entity goes through a series of supply-chain stages (Procurement, Processing, Packing, Storage, Delivery, and any custom stages you have created). Each stage appears as an accordion row in the Visibility tab.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Stage toggle (on/off) | Turns the entire stage block on or off on the consumer page. When off, the stage row shows 'Hidden from consumers' in red. No fields from this stage are visible regardless of field-level settings. |
| ▼ Fields button | Expands the stage accordion to reveal the field-level checkboxes. Only visible when the stage toggle is on. |
| Field checkboxes | Each field (e.g. Supplier Name, Process Type, Pack Date) has its own checkbox. Unchecked fields are not shown to consumers even if the stage itself is visible. |
| Select all / Deselect all | A master checkbox at the top of the expanded field list lets you show or hide all fields for that stage in one click. Indeterminate state (dash) means some fields are checked. |
Field-level control
Each stage in Meiver has a set of default fields. Here is the full reference:
| Stage | Available fields |
|---|---|
| Procurement | Supplier Name · Material Lot/Batch · Received Date · Quantity · Unit · Certificate No. |
| Processing | Process Type · Start Time · End Time · Temperature (°C) · Yield (%) · QC Status |
| Packing | Packaging Type · Pack Date · Lot / Batch Code · Net Weight · Weight Unit · Seal Integrity |
| Storage | Storage Location · Storage Type · Temperature (°C) · In Date · Out Date |
| Delivery | Carrier / Courier · Dispatch Date · Destination · AWB / LR No. · Vehicle No. · Temp Log Required |
Page sections
Below the stage accordion list, a set of section toggles controls which standalone sections appear on the consumer QR page:
| Section | Icon | What it shows / hides |
|---|---|---|
| Ingredients Section | The full ingredient list and allergen highlights for the batch's SKU. | |
| Highlight Key Ingredients | Featured ingredients displayed at the top with a star badge. Only available when the Ingredients Section is enabled. Configure featured ingredients in the SKU catalog. | |
| Documents Section | Public certificates, QC reports, and compliance documents attached to the batch or SKU. | |
| Recall Alerts | Recall notifications and the subscribe form so consumers can opt in for recall emails for this batch. | |
| Blockchain Verified Badge | The on-chain anchor verification badge. Only appears when the batch has been anchored to the blockchain. | |
| Batch Lookup Search Bar | Lets consumers search for a different batch number on the same product page without leaving the QR page. |
Typography tab
The Typography tab lets you choose the fonts used on your consumer QR page. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts and a live preview updates as you select options.
Heading font
The heading font is applied to product names, stage headings, and section titles. Choose from six curated options:
Body font
The body font applies to field values, descriptions, and all supporting content on the consumer page. Six options are available:
Live preview
Below the font pickers, a Live Preview card shows how your selected heading and body fonts render together using a sample product name and batch description. The preview uses the actual Google Fonts loaded in real time — what you see is exactly what consumers will see.
Display tab
The Display tab controls contact information visibility and SEO settings for the consumer page.
Contact information
A single toggle — Show contact details — controls whether your entity's contact information appears at the bottom of the consumer QR page. When enabled, the following fields from your Entity Settings are displayed:
- Contact email address
- Contact phone number
- Full postal address (address lines, city, state, postal code, country)
- Social media links (Enterprise only)
SEO & meta description
The Meta Description field lets you write a short description (up to 160 characters) that search engines use as the snippet shown beneath your page title in search results. A well-written meta description increases click-through rates from Google and other search engines.
| Field | Details |
|---|---|
| Meta Description | Free-text field, max 160 characters. Used as the HTML <meta name="description"> tag on every consumer QR page for this entity. A counter shows your current character count — turns amber at 140 characters. |
Example of a good meta description:
Custom Domain tab ENTERPRISE
The Custom Domain tab lets Enterprise tenants serve their consumer QR pages from their own branded domain (e.g. trace.yourbrand.com) instead of the default Meiver URL. On Free and Pro plans this tab shows a locked upgrade prompt.

Setting a primary domain
If you have multiple ACTIVE domains, you can designate one as the PRIMARY domain. The primary domain is used as the canonical URL for all consumer QR pages. Click Set Primary on any active domain card to promote it.
Deleting a domain
Click the Delete button on any domain card to remove it. A confirmation dialog appears before deletion. Deleted domains are removed immediately and cannot be recovered.
Saving changes
Consumer Settings uses a single Save Settings button shared across the Visibility, Typography, and Display tabs. All changes you make across these three tabs are buffered locally and submitted in one atomic API call when you click Save Settings.
| Tab | Save mechanism |
|---|---|
| Visibility | Saved by the Save Settings button. Stage toggles and field checkboxes are included. |
| Typography | Saved by the Save Settings button. Heading font and body font selections are included. |
| Display | Saved by the Save Settings button. Contact toggle and meta description are included. |
| Custom Domain | Domain actions (Add, Verify, Set Primary, Delete) each save independently on action. There is no shared Save button in this tab. |
Troubleshooting & FAQs
I see 'View only' on the Consumer Settings page.
Only Tenant Admins can edit Consumer Settings. If you are Ops Staff or a Viewer, all controls are greyed out and the card header shows a 'View only' badge. Ask your Tenant Admin to make changes or to upgrade your role.
I turned off a stage but it still appears on the consumer page.
Settings are only applied after you click Save Settings. If you toggled a stage off but haven't saved, the consumer page still shows the old settings. Click Save Settings and refresh the consumer page to confirm the change.
The Highlight Key Ingredients toggle is greyed out.
The Highlight Key Ingredients toggle is a sub-option of the Ingredients Section. It is automatically disabled when the Ingredients Section toggle is off. Enable the Ingredients Section first, then you can control the highlight separately.
My font change doesn't show on the consumer page.
Font changes require saving via the Save Settings button. If you selected a new font but didn't save, the consumer page retains the previous font. Also clear your browser cache or open the consumer page in a private/incognito window if the old font persists after saving.
The meta description I set isn't showing in Google search results.
Google may take days or weeks to re-crawl and update its index. The meta description tag is set correctly on the page immediately after saving. You can verify it is live using browser developer tools (Inspect → <head>) or a tool like Google Search Console's URL Inspection.
My contact details are blank on the consumer page even though I enabled the toggle.
Contact details are pulled from Entity Settings → General Settings → Contact & Address. If those fields are empty, enabling the toggle shows the section with no content. Go to Entity Settings, fill in your contact details, and save there first.
The Custom Domain tab shows a lock screen.
Custom domains are available on the Enterprise plan only. Upgrade your subscription under Settings → Billing to unlock this feature.
DNS verification keeps failing even though I added both records.
Check the following: (1) The TXT record name must include the _meiver-trace. prefix. (2) The CNAME value must match exactly — copy it using the Copy button to avoid typos. (3) DNS propagation can take up to 48 hours — try again later. (4) Some registrars strip the leading underscore from TXT names; confirm the full name is saved correctly in your DNS provider's panel.
My domain is stuck in VERIFIED status for more than 24 hours.
VERIFIED means DNS records are confirmed and we are in the process of registering your domain in our infrastructure. This step requires manual review from our team and is typically completed within a few hours on business days. If it has been more than 24 business hours, contact support at connect@meiver.io with your domain name.
I deleted a domain by mistake. Can I recover it?
No. Deleted domains are removed immediately and cannot be recovered. You will need to add the domain again, re-add the DNS records, and go through the verification and activation process again.
